Five Islands in Two Weeks Part 2, Bali and Flores

During the last two weeks we had a special opportunity to spend time with the families of our sons. Paul and Suvi and Sam and Liz came to Indonesia for vacation so we were able to set aside some time to spend with them. The pictures above are from the elephant preserve in Bali and the Komodo national park on the island of Komodo. On the left grandkids are taking turns feeding a young Sumatran elephant and on the right Cheri is standing behind a komodo dragon. The picture was taken by the park ranger using my camera just before the giant lizard decided to turn around and the ranger had us quickly back down from the trail we were on.
Now the komodo dragon is walking on the same trail Cheri was standing on a few seconds before. I was a bit surprised by how close they allowed us to be to the komodo dragons.

I am writing this blog entry while back in Jakarta. The kids have all gone now and we are settling back into our missionary work. It was great to be able to spend some time with family. We will always cherish the good times we had with with our children and grandchildren while on our mission. We are very grateful that they decided to make the very long trip to Indonesia here for vacation. We met them in Bali and then a couple days later we all flew out to the island of Flores where Sam and Paul had chartered a boat to take us around to some of the nearby islands to enjoy some great snorkeling, beach time, and hikes. I will paste a few pictures of the trip below.
Princess Lala is the name of the little boat that was our home for 5 days and 4 nights.
Bo and Dale, the twins, loved jumping off the boat into blue-blue water of the Indian Ocean.
Leila with our little sea shell collection. The one she is holding up was given to her by Cheri. It is a piece of coral shaped like a heart but Leila insists it is the shape of a dragon head.
This is one of my favorite photos from the trip. Ted near the summit of one of our hikes in Komodo National Park.
I also like this shot of Sam's family on the same hike.
And the token selfie
We went swimming in a cave
We really enjoyed chatting with the little ones in Bali
On Sunday we made it to the branch meeting  in Bali. Its one of those branches that during tourist season has a lot more visitors than members. Actually Cheri told me this picture is from the Church in Jakarta but we did attend the Bali branch too.
Leila chillin on the boat
The whole group in Bali
